Italian for Beginners

Status:Active, open to new members
Convenor:
When: On Friday mornings 10:30 am-12:00 pm
Venue: Garforth Library

Would you like to learn Italian or do you want to brush up on and improve your beginner Italian? We are a small group that started in May and are slowly but surely getting to grips with the language. We meet every Friday morning from 10:30 – 12:00 in the downstairs Computer room in Garforth library. We try out our skills on and help each other all whilst having a laugh and a cuppa. Anyone who is new to Italian  is welcome to come and join us and give it a go, please contact Beginers Italian Convenor. For people who already have a good knowledge of Italian please see our Italian group that meets on Wednesday afternoon

Update April 2026

The group is going well with eight members of mixed abilities, as we have had some newer members over the past few months. Whilst we still consider ourselves beginners, we are slowly but surely increasing our grasp of the language, increasing our vocabulary and grappling with the grammar. Each week we do a little reading, talk about what has interested us the past week and now do ‘speed chatting’, which has proved to be very popular and is helping us get more confident and fluent.
